Chipping in and withdrawing
Add USDC to a target's pot from your wallet, and take your share back at any time before a PASS.
Chip in
- Open a target page from the wall and enter an amount, 5 USDC or more.
- Click Connect wallet and pick Phantom or Solflare. The wallet opens only on that click; the site makes no wallet call when a page loads.
- The site builds one transaction; your wallet shows it and you approve it.
The transaction does three things:
- creates the escrow's USDC account if it does not exist yet (the associated token account, idempotent);
- transfers your USDC to the target's escrow USDC account;
- writes the Memo
teardown:chip:<program>, signed by your wallet.
You pay the network fee. The first backer of a target also pays the rent of the escrow's USDC account, about 0.002 SOL, once.
Escrows
Every target has its own escrow key, derived from the escrow seed and the program address (index = 31 bits of sha256("teardown:escrow:" + program), path m/44'/501'/<index>'/0'). The escrow address is printed on the target page. A pot is read from the chain: every USDC transfer in and out of the escrow's token account, with its Memo. Positions are never read from a database alone.
Withdraw
A backer can take their share back at any time before a PASS. On the target page, click Withdraw my share: your wallet signs this message (no transaction, no fee):
teardown:withdraw:<program>:<wallet>:<time in ISO 8601, UTC>
I ask the Prop AMM Teardown Engine keeper to send my share of this pot back to this wallet.The signed request is valid for 10 minutes. The site checks the signature, reads your share from the escrow's history (your chip-ins minus anything already refunded) and records the request. The keeper then sends the USDC back to your wallet with the Memo teardown:refund:<program>:<wallet>:<amount>. The keeper pays the fee; refunds wait until it holds SOL for fees, and the target page shows each request with its status and, once sent, its Solscan link.
After a PASS
Once a target has a PASS, its pot belongs to the hunter: withdrawals are refused and the pot is paid out as described in Hunting and the judge. Vault top-ups added to a pot are the vault's and are not part of any backer's share.
